The ad sets up a sort of happy mood with the 2 men talking about their new products they just purchased. The design of the ad is very simple with the 2 men talking about their new products. There is alot of "white space" in this ad. They mostly use the space for the 2 men talking and showing off their TV. The TV screen jumping out is used as a symbol to say that their TV has a bigger screen. The older man on the left looks like a richer guy when he mentions he got a new vehicle and the guy on the right looks to be part of the working class that just got enough money to buy a more expensive TV. The older man might be saying to this man he got this new car to sort of stick it to the other guy in a kind of one up situation. Or the 2 could be friends and they are just telling one another they got new things and they wanted to show off. The item, the television, got really big in popularity around the time this ad was released and it continues to be one of the big sources of entertainment. The economic attitude in this ad shows how, if you have enough money, you can trade something older and get something better for a bit more money.
